I’ve rented trucks and now storage space from Laura on a few occasions. This is a remarkable business. My experience with moving truck and storage companies is mixed at best. With a competitor on the mainland, I recently waited about an hour while a clearly over-taxed employee rushed from truck to customer to backroom back to customer. It was tragic and time-consuming. Laura on the other hand is an angel sent down from heaven. She is a kind, flexible and generous with her time. It’s a wonderfully human experience. They are well-stocked, competitively priced, and chill in all the right ways. Two notes: * If you need to rent moving blankets, you’ll need to look elsewhere (Grannie’s across the street??). They do sell them. * If you book on the UHaul web site, they will often try to divert you to mainland alternatives confusedly. It’s best to just call Laura and get it done.

I wasn’t sure about renting on the island, because I figured it would be expensive, and guess what? It is! That said? The woman who works at the Glacier west storage place on vashon? She makes it worth it. They don’t have much available, though there is turnover, but that says something to me. People rent here! I had paintings and things that needed climate control to survive. Laura was instrumental in making me feel comfortable with storing my things here. She was so courteous and receptive, drove me in a little buggy golf cart thing to see the few units available, oriented me to the proper pricing (no bait and switch here, though there are apparently increases, I haven’t had one yet) and even helped me when I couldn’t figure my gate code out after hours the first time I came through. The property is SO well maintained. It’s spotless, rodent free, clean as a whistle, and she is always available for help. She has a wonderful reputation in the community and now I know why. There’s another storage place right across the street, but having met them and her? Laura is the one to go with! I have never felt more confident in leaving my things at a property (and being in the military I’ve had units all over the place) than I do with her. I don’t usally leave reviews, but I felt the need to reach out and leave one because she clearly goes above, beyond, and then some for her clients. If I EVER need storage, or have the chance to refer someone to anywhere I’ve rented? I’d hands down, without hesitation, recommend Laura, because she’s just fantastic. Thank you, Laura! You are worth more than anyone pays for any unit they have!

Recently I needed storage needs, and of course Laura brought that same level of professionalism and down-home decorum to the rental process. The storage facility is super clean, tight, well lit, and very secure. The grounds are manicured and navigation is simple with wide maneuvering and easy access. The design was well thought out. They also have a renters garage sale every summer – I’ve gone in years past and it has become quite a thing, and is very fun. I can’t recommend Laura (Paul too!) and Island Security enough.

Laura has been and continues to be a complete joy to work with. I came to her this past summer needing to create extra space on the fly for a relative coming for an extended stay. To say I was stressed is putting it mildly! She was so supportive and worked with me to get myself into a the perfect sized storage and giving me the time and place to sort through everything that needed to be moved to make that space. The facilities are clean, organized and generally well kept. Just recently, I have been able to downsize and once again she was right there with exactly what I needed. I have found her to always be generous, courteous and happens to have a lovely sense of humor! I would highly recommend working with her.
